Toyota’s all-new Crown Sedan model has been unveiled. Although it has not been officially released, sales will begin in Japan this spring.

The new Crown Sedan Limited Matte Metal has been unveiled at THE CROWN, a Toyota Crown model specialty store. It will be on exhibit at the Fukuoka Tenjin store until March 2.

The 16th generation Crown, introduced in July 2022, is divided into four distinct body styles: crossover, sedan, sports, and estate. The Crown crossover model, which debuted in September 2023, is the domestic release model. Product number three in this series is the Limited Matte Metal, distinguished by its unique matte finish—a feature absent from the standard lineup.

THE CROWN Japan official said, “We have already received several inquiries, but the release date has not been set yet,” and “We are waiting for the release announcement soon.”

On January 7, 1955, shortly after World War II ended, Toyota launched its first Crown model. This 16th generation has a 70-year history.
