Swedish electric vehicle brand Polestar is set to expand its Arctic Circle lineup, which can deliver perfect driving performance even in the extreme environment of the Arctic Circle.

Developed based on Sweden’s performance DNA, this special lineup plans to expand from the existing Polestar 2 to Polestar 3 and 4 with innovative technologies that overcome the limitations of electric vehicles in cold weather.

Upgraded Performance for Arctic Conditions

Polestar has significantly upgraded the core performance features of the Polestar 3 and 4 to ensure they thrive in the demanding conditions of the Arctic Circle. The Arctic Circle editions of the Polestar 3 and 4 feature increased ground clearance, with the Polestar 3 boasting an additional 40 mm (1.6 inches) and the Polestar 4 gaining 20 mm (0.8 inches) compared to their regular counterparts. Additionally, the vehicles are equipped with Öhlins dampers that offer three-stage damping force adjustment, improving their handling on icy and rough surfaces.

A key innovation for these Arctic-ready vehicles is the inclusion of Pirelli Scorpion All-Terrain Plus tires, designed specifically for icy roads. With approximately 300 4 mm (0.2 inches) studs, these tires ensure optimal grip, allowing the vehicles to maintain control even in extreme conditions.

The Polestar 4 Arctic Circle model takes performance a step further by including 20-inch OZ Racing Rally Legend wheels, a first for Polestar. These wheels are engineered to ensure stability in extreme driving conditions, enhancing the vehicle’s capabilities when navigating the most demanding terrain.

Swedish Engineering Meets Arctic Challenge

Developed at Polestar’s Swedish R&D facility, these one-off Arctic Circle models incorporate high-performance accessories from key partners to ensure peak performance. The Polestar 2 Arctic Circle edition and the 3 and 4 are equipped with Steady’s new Quad Evo front spotlights, providing enhanced nighttime visibility. Recaro bucket seats offer additional driver convenience, while skis, roof racks, and storage and recovery equipment provide practical solutions for driving in the Arctic’s challenging conditions.

Michael Lohscheller, CEO of Polestar, explained, “The Arctic Circle Collection combines Polestar’s unique performance DNA rooted in motorsports with Scandinavian design. It’s designed to perform at its best, even in the harshest environments of the Swedish Arctic Circle.”
