Audi Korea is making a strong impression by launching its new A6 sedan in Korea ahead of its global debut.
An Audi Korea spokesperson confirmed that the new A6 sedan is currently undergoing road testing in Korea under camouflage. Pre-orders could open later this year.
On March 5, Audi unveiled the Avant wagon version of the ninth-generation, fully redesigned A6. The sedan version is scheduled for a global reveal in the first half of this year.
New A6 Sedan Tested on Korean Roads Ahead of Global Debut
Although the new A6 sedan has yet to be officially unveiled, Audi is conducting camouflaged road tests in Korea. These tests aim to support a swift launch and ensure the model is well-adapted to the Korean market, where the A6 remains a core product.
This early testing shows Audi’s strong commitment to Korean customers.
The new A6 sedan will showcase Audi’s latest design language and is built on the Premium Platform Combustion (PPC), the company’s latest platform for internal combustion engine vehicles.
The recently revealed A6 Avant is 4,990 mm (196.5 inches) long, 60 mm (2.4 inches) longer than the previous generation. The sedan is expected to have similar dimensions.
Its sleek front end includes new daytime running lights, while the rear features OLED taillights with customizable internal graphics.
The sedan and Avant models are expected to share the taillight design. The interior will be more digitally oriented, with three displays, including one for the front passenger.
Powerful Powertrains and Advanced Features
The new A6 lineup includes 2.0L and 3.0L gasoline turbo engines, plus a 2.0L diesel turbo in the Avant. The 3.0L gasoline and 2.0L diesel variants feature a 48V mild hybrid system to improve acceleration.
North American models suggest that the A6 45 TFSI will feature a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 261 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque.
A 3.0L will power the higher-end A6 55 TFSI turbocharged V6, producing 335 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. Both engines will have a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and Audi’s Quattro all-wheel-drive system.
Standard features include a panoramic sunroof, leather upholstery, LED lighting, a 12.3-inch Virtual Cockpit Plus digital instrument cluster, and a dual-screen infotainment system with 10.1-inch upper and lower displays.
Higher trims will offer matrix LED headlights, acoustic glass, Bang & Olufsen premium audio, ventilated front seats, and heated rear seats.
Efficiency and Pricing Positioning
The new A6 sedan aims to outshine rivals like the BMW 5 Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class with its strong fuel efficiency and premium interior.
In North America, the A6 45 TFSI delivers 10.0L/100km (23.5 mpg) in city driving and 7.7L/100km (30.5 mpg) on the highway—impressive figures for its segment.
U.S. pricing starts at $59,395 for the base A6 Premium and climbs to $74,645 for the top-tier A6 Prestige.
