Kia’s flagship sedan, the K9, made a quiet comeback with the 2025 model launched on May 2 without major fanfare. Positioned as a value flagship, the new K9 offers premium features at a competitive price. Competing with the Genesis G90 in the domestic full-size sedan market, the 2025 K9 promises a quieter, more comfortable, and refined ride.

The 2025 K9’s most significant update centers on passenger comfort.

All trim levels now feature illuminated rear seatbelt buckles for nighttime convenience. The top-tier master trim adds an Ergo Motion seat for the front passenger, air-cell lumbar support, and power-adjustable headrests.

The Best Selection I trim focuses on popular consumer-preferred options.

Building on the Platinum trim, it includes features like the monitoring package, comfort package, 19-inch wheels, head-up display, and AWD. The driver’s seat is enhanced with an Ergo Motion seat, power-adjustable seat extension, and power-adjustable bolsters, creating a more advanced driving environment.

The powertrain options are impressive. The 3.8-liter gasoline engine delivers 315 horsepower and 298 lb-ft of torque, achieving a combined fuel economy of 8.2 to 9 km/L. The 3.3-liter turbocharged gasoline model produces 370 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque, with a combined fuel economy ranging from 8 to 8.7 km/L.

The K9 features a predictive transmission system and preview electronic control suspension, reinforcing its position as a true flagship sedan rather than just a model year update.
