Smart has pulled the wraps off its most potent high-performance electric SUV to date, the Brabus #5.
Set to make its public debut at the Shanghai Motor Show this month, this souped-up version of the Smart #5 packs a whopping 637 horsepower, and can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (60mph) in a mere 3.8 seconds, outgunning even the renowned BMW M3 in acceleration.

Under the hood, the Brabus #5 boasts an 800V electrical architecture and a hefty 100kWh battery. Its dual-motor all-wheel-drive system cranks out a peak output of 637 horsepower (475 kW, 646 PS) and a maximum torque of 735 Nm (approximately 74.9 kg·m), leaving the BMW M3 in its rearview mirror with its blistering 0-100 km/h(60mph) time.
The Brabus #5 offers a WLTP-rated range of 540 km, with 400 kW DC fast charging reaching up to 80% battery in under 18 minutes.

The Brabus #5 features exclusive 21-inch two-tone monoblock wheels, eye-catching red brake calipers, and distinctive Brabus emblems. Red accents and aerodynamic elements like skirt kits further emphasize its sporty DNA.

Inside, the driver-centric layout features a 10.3-inch digital instrument cluster flanked by two 13-inch displays, all running Brabus-specific UI.
The Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel sports illuminated Brabus logos, while the seats are crafted from high-end microfiber and Dinamica materials. Front passengers enjoy both ventilation and heating, with rear seat occupants benefiting from standard heating. Some other sophisticated touches include a panoramic glass roof, a microfiber headliner, sporty pedals, and red safety belts. The cabin ambiance can be customized with 256-color ambient lighting, while audiophiles will appreciate the Sennheiser Signature 20-speaker sound system.

For customers who miss the visceral thrill of gas-powered performance cars, the Brabus #5 offers a Rocket Mode launch control feature and virtual engine sounds in Brabus-specific driving modes.
The Brabus #5 is planning to kick off pre-orders in Germany starting April 24, with gradual rollouts in the UK, Australia, and other markets later this year.

Pricing starts at around 60,900 EUR (approximately 68,600 USD) in Germany. The Brabus #5 is poised to shake up the high-performance electric SUV segment, going head-to-head with competitors like the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N, Kia EV6 GT, and Tesla Model Y.
