The compact electric pickup truck market is gaining momentum with the MT1, an electric pickup from U.S. EV startup TELO Trucks. The vehicle exceeded 5,000 pre-orders, attracting significant industry attention even before its official launch.
The MT1 is designed for urban driving. Its compact dimensions—3,860 mm (152.0 inches) in length and 1,850 mm (72.8 inches) in width—deliver powerful performance and practicality. The vehicle has already surpassed 5,000 pre-orders, drawing significant industry attention.
Small but mighty

Despite its small size, the MT1 stands out for its impressive performance. The dual-motor model delivers up to 500 horsepower and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) in just 4 seconds. The base model offers 300 horsepower, making it competitive with traditional internal combustion engine compact trucks.
The MT1’s large 106 kWh battery allows it to achieve a maximum range of 563 km (350 miles) on a single charge. Its fast-charging capabilities enable it to charge from 20% to 80% in just 20 minutes, addressing a common concern among electric vehicle users.
Ample Cargo Space and Versatile Interior

Cargo capacity is a crucial feature for pickup trucks. The MT1 has a maximum payload capacity of 907 kg (2,000 lbs) and incorporates mid-gate technology, extending its cargo area to 2.44 meters (8 feet). An additional storage area, the Monster Tunnel, enhances its ability to transport longer items.
The interior provides space comparable to a five-passenger crew cab and offers flexible seating for two, five, or eight passengers. Sustainable, eco-friendly materials add a premium touch to the cabin.
TELO Trucks prioritized safety, equipping the MT1 with advanced collision sensors, airbags, and a durable body structure to protect occupants in the event of an accident.
Additional features like 360-degree parking sensors, a rearview camera, and a digital dashboard enhance driving convenience. A smart infotainment system improves connectivity and the overall user experience.

Currently, in the prototype stage, TELO Trucks aims to begin mass production and sales of the MT1 by late 2025.
The base model starts at $41,520, while the dual-motor and long-range versions are $50,520. Pre-orders require a $152 deposit, and over 5,000 reservations have already been made.
