Chinese electric vehicle startup XPENG has unveiled its refreshed 2025 G6 model, which features 81 notable upgrades. The standout feature is its cutting-edge 5C charging AI battery, which can charge from 10% to 80% in 12 minutes. XPENG has integrated this cutting-edge technology into a model with a starting price of just 176,800 CNY (approximately $24,400), making it highly competitive.

The 2025 G6 comes equipped with XPENG’s state-of-the-art ADAS system, powered by a 40-core Turing chip developed in 2024. This chip, built on XPENG’s Kanghaji neural network, outperforms major competitors with bandwidth 33 times wider and camera image processing speeds 12 times faster. As a result, XPENG confidently claims that the G6 supports true Level 4 autonomous driving capabilities.

XPENG has also made significant strides in battery technology. The 5C charge and discharge rate allows the battery to be charged from 10% to 80% five times within an hour. Theoretically, this translates to a charging time of just 12 minutes, compared to 15 minutes for a 4C battery and 10 minutes for a 6C battery. This development comes as Chinese EV manufacturers push the boundaries of range, performance, and technology while maintaining competitive pricing.

Another standout feature of the G6 is its exceptionally durable “bulletproof” battery. The battery can withstand temperatures exceeding 1,000 degrees Celsius and is engineered to absorb impacts of up to 80 tons during side collisions. It’s also designed to endure shocks exceeding 2,000 Newtons from below, emphasizing XPENG’s commitment to safety.

With the launch of the 2025 G6, XPENG is positioning itself as a leader in high-speed charging technology, autonomous driving, and safety innovations. As the Chinese electric vehicle market evolves rapidly, industry watchers will closely monitor how the 2025 G6 competes in this dynamic landscape.
