On Tuesday, IONNA held a launch event for its ultra-fast charging service at its North Carolina headquarters.

The company announced the official start of operations at four EV charging stations, one of which is Apex Recharger near the headquarters. In addition, a customer experience research lab dedicated to EV charging technology is now operating.

IONNA is a North American consortium for ultra-fast EV charging services. It comprises eight major automakers: Hyundai, Kia, BMW, GM, Honda, Mercedes-Benz, Stellantis, and Toyota.

The company aims to build infrastructure enabling coast-to-coast EV road trips across the United States.

IONNA’s ambitious goal is to install 30,000 chargers by 2030, with an initial target of 1,000 units in 2025. Since its official launch last February, the company has already secured contracts for over 100 charging station locations.

Committed to delivering a premium charging experience, IONNA has conducted over 4,400 charging tests on more than eighty different EV models to develop safe and reliable charging technology.

In an innovative partnership with Amazon, select IONNA stations will feature automated convenience stores, enhancing the overall customer experience.
