Chrysler, the iconic American automaker, has announced the development of the Pacifica EV, an all-electric version of its signature minivan. Chrysler, once a dominant force in the U.S. automotive market, has faced significant challenges recently, especially after transferring most of its model lineup to Jeep and Dodge following financial struggles in 2009. Now, Chrysler is making a comeback with a bold move in the electric vehicle space, revealing plans for the Pacifica EV, which will launch in 2027.
The Pacifica EV will continue to carry the legacy of the Pacifica nameplate, a model long recognized for its affordability and practicality in the minivan market. Chrysler’s move to electrify the Pacifica reflects its desire to regain prominence in the competitive EV market, offering consumers a familiar yet innovative option.

Inspired by the Halcyon Concept: A Futuristic Design for the Pacifica EV
The design of the Pacifica EV is heavily inspired by Chrysler’s previously revealed Halcyon concept car. The concept car’s futuristic design elements are incorporated into the minivan, adding a new layer of modernity to the Pacifica. A virtual rendering based on this concept has gained significant attention, giving a glimpse of the vehicle’s bold new direction.
One of the most striking features of the Pacifica EV’s front end is the light bar, which takes on a form that symbolizes Chrysler’s iconic logo, reinforcing the brand’s identity. The headlamps have been redesigned with a sleeker appearance, similar to the changes in models like the Tesla Model 3. The grille is simplified, with a mesh pattern reduced in size, while the bumper grille area has been expanded to create a balanced, cohesive look.
A second light bar runs along the top of the bumper grille, enhancing the vehicle’s futuristic appeal. Additionally, horizontal lamps on the side of the bumper, featuring a three-row layout, further contribute to the vehicle’s cutting-edge design. While the side profile remains relatively unchanged, new wheels enhance the overall modern look.

Rear Design with a Bold, Boxy Shape: Inspired by Hyundai Staria
The Pacifica EV’s rear design is more dramatic, with bold changes that resemble the Hyundai Staria. Horizontal tail lamps run along the rear, while the body adopts a boxy shape that maximizes interior space—ideal for a family-oriented minivan. The rendering also reveals an auto-flush door handle and a streamlined design connecting the side windows, contributing to the vehicle’s sleek appearance.
The rear’s design features concave volumes and large rear glass, creating an open and airy feel for the interior. The restrained design elements and a black gloss finish on the bumper give the rear a sophisticated, unified look that complements the vehicle’s futuristic overall aesthetic.
