Kia has officially started its next-generation compact SUV, the Syros, in the Indian market.

Customers pay close attention to the Kia Syros because of its high-quality products and affordable prices. In India, the price is 890,000 rupees (roughly $10,200), comparable to regional brands like the Mahindra XUV 3XO and Tata Motors Nexon.

The Syros showcases Kia’s latest design philosophy, “Opposites United,” making a bold first impression.

In particular, the futuristic exterior design, reminiscent of Kia’s flagship electric SUV, EV9, stands out. The Starmap Signature LED lighting and digital tiger face demonstrate Kia’s new design identity.

The Syros measures 157.1 inches long, 70.9 inches wide, and 65.6 inches tall, with a 100.4-inch wheelbase. It offers stable handling and generous interior space. While similar in length to competitors, its increased width and height enhance comfort.

With a class-leading 16.4 cubic feet of cargo space, the Syros is set to impress practicality-minded buyers.

The interior is full of cutting-edge features, befitting a premium SUV. A wide display combining a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 5-inch climate control screen dominates the interior atmosphere.

A two-spoke steering wheel and ambient lighting add a luxurious touch. Heating and ventilation are standard in front and rear seats, ensuring year-round comfort.

Additional premium features include a Harman Kardon sound system and a dual-panel panoramic sunroof. Rear seats offer reclining and sliding functions for maximum passenger comfort.

Two powertrain options are available. The 1.5-liter 4-cylinder diesel engine with 116 hp is mated with a 6-speed automatic transmission for efficient driving, and the 1.0-liter 3-cylinder gasoline turbo engine with 120 hp is paired with a 7-speed DCT for swift driving performance.

The latest ADAS also features notable safety features, including adaptive cruise control and a 360-degree camera system for enhanced driving safety and convenience.

The Syros also offers over-the-air software updates and Kia Connect 2.0, which provides connected car services such as emergency assistance, real-time diagnostics, and stolen vehicle tracking.

In the meantime, Kia plans to use Syros to bridge the Sonet-Seltos divide in the Indian market. Kia Syros has not yet decided whether to introduce its product domestically. Still, it plans to expand its sales market from India to Asia Pacific, Central and South America, Africa, and the Middle East.
