Hyundai Motor Group broke its monthly record in the US market in January.

Hyundai Motor America announced that it sold 54,503 units in the US in January, up 15% year over year. Kia Motors America also sold 57,007 units, up 12% year over year. Both Hyundai and Kia continued their upward trend, recording double-digit sales growth in the US.

Hyundai and Kia were able to rapidly increase their US sales because they quickly responded to customer demand by producing various eco-friendly vehicles such as hybrids and electric cars.

Sales of the Santa Fe Hybrid (HEV) increased by 160% compared to the same period last year, and the Tucson HEV (up 89%), Ioniq 5 (up 54%), and Ioniq 6 (15%) broke all-time January sales records. Hybrid sales increased by 74%, and electric vehicle sales increased by 15%.

Kia recorded its best January sales ever, with hybrid and electric vehicle sales increasing evenly. Five models achieved their best January sales ever: Kia Forte (K3 for the South Korean market) and K4 (up 29%), EV6 (up 27%), Carnival (up 22%), Telluride (up 16%), and Sportage (up 14%).

Randy Parker, CEO of Hyundai Motor America, announced that the company achieved its highest-ever January sales across multiple models. He added that demand remains incredible, citing strong retail and gross sales of models such as the Santa Fe, Tucson, Ioniq 5, and Ioniq 6, as well as record-breaking sales of its hybrid and electric vehicles.

Eric Watson, vice president of Kia America, stated that sales of hybrids and SUVs, known for their excellent product competitiveness, continue to increase. He also noted that the newly launched K4, the successor to the Forte, is continuing its growth momentum with a positive consumer response.
