From the Asphalt to Off Roads: Can-Am’s ‘Pulse’ and ‘Origin’ Go Full Electric

Can-Am Pulse / Can-Am

Canadian motorcycle manufacturer Can-Am has released two new electric bikes, the Pulse and Origin.

According to electric vehicle media CleanTechnica on Monday, the Pulse is designed for riders who want a comfortable ride even in the city. Light and agile, with instant torque and smooth acceleration, the Pulse has less noise and maintenance burden than a traditional street bike. It weighs 177 kg (390 pounds), has a range of up to 100 miles (160km), and starts at 13,999 USD.

The Origin, on the other hand, is a versatile dual-sport motorcycle that promises exceptional performance and comfort both on and off the road. Can-Am has incorporated an ergonomically optimized design, meticulously researched to enhance rider comfort. Weighing in at 187km (412 pounds), the Origin offers a range of up to 90 miles (144km) and starts at 14,499 USD.

In addition, both models are equipped with a liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery system boasting an energy output of 8.9 kWh. Liquid cooling maintains the optimal battery temperature, allowing the bike to perform to its specifications even in hot summer or cold weather. In particular, torque transmission and acceleration performance are maintained more stably when the battery does not overheat or become too cold.
