This 500SL has just 33,000 miles (53,100 km) on the odometer. Its limited use came from the original owner, who drove it occasionally at a vacation home. Key wear items like the front suspension bushings, engine mounts, and transmission parts have all been replaced. Unlike the softer setups in later SL models, this early version retains a firm steering feel and a more planted suspension. It’s the driving character often called bank vault solid.
The exterior has a rare dark blue finish and a dark interior, an elegant and uncommon pairing. The soft top, which often suffers from hydraulic failures and aging, has been replaced with a new unit.
