Cadillac’s highly anticipated high-performance electric SUV, the 2026 Optiq-V, was caught on camera for the first time. The recently released images show a vehicle distinct from the existing Optic model, which is believed to be the high-performance V model Cadillac will unveil later this year. Industry insiders suggest that Cadillac is pushing hard to develop the Optic-V to compete directly with the electric Porsche Macan.
The Optiq-V will be Cadillac’s second high-performance electric vehicle (EV), following the Lyriq-V released earlier this year. Cadillac is seen as making a strategic move to establish a strong performance-oriented presence in the traditional premium SUV market while standing out in the electric SUV segment. The industry will watch closely how the Optic-V will impact the electric SUV market.

Raising the Bar in Performance
A Bold New Look
The latest spy shots of the Optic-V reveal a clear departure from the design of the standard Optic model. The vehicle features a dedicated front lip, large 21-inch wheels, and a high-performance brake system, giving it a sportier and more aggressive appearance than the regular model.
Inside, Cadillac plans to set the Optic-V apart with premium materials, a unique badge, and a sport-specific steering wheel, creating a distinctly different atmosphere from the standard model. The steering system and suspension have also been fine-tuned to offer a more precise and sporty driving experience.
The Optic-V’s performance is expected to be similar to the all-wheel-drive Lyriq-V, with an estimated output of 515 horsepower and 62 kg·m (457 lb-ft) of torque. This is about 215 horsepower and 1,362 kg·m (10,016 lb-ft) higher than the standard Optic, giving it a competitive edge in the electric SUV market. Experts believe it will compete directly with vehicles like the Tesla Model X and BMW iX M60.

Debut Slated for Later This Year
A Cornerstone of Cadillac’s EV Strategy
The Optic-V is not just another model in Cadillac’s lineup, but a key element of the brand’s future electric vehicle strategy. With this development, Cadillac aims to enhance performance figures and revolutionize the brand’s image while establishing its presence in the high-performance EV market.
Having already confirmed the potential for entering the high-performance electric car market with the Lyriq-V, Cadillac plans to solidify its strategy with the Optic-V further. Industry experts believe the Optic-V will compete with other luxury SUV brands and make significant strides against established players like Porsche and Tesla.
The Optic-V is scheduled for an official reveal in the second half of this year. Details about its specifications and sales schedule will be released shortly after, and all eyes will be on whether Cadillac can successfully achieve its goal of becoming a high-performance EV brand.
