Chinese premium electric vehicle brand Zeekr has unveiled its top-of-the-line flagship minivan, the 009 Grand Collector’s Edition, in an effort to solidify its position in the luxury electric vehicle market. This model is a special specification that is one level higher than the existing Grand trim and is drawing attention as a mobility palace with some of the exterior decorations being plated with pure 24K gold.

As for the Zeekr 009, it is the brand’s largest vehicle and can seat up to seven people as standard, but the Grand Collector’s Edition comes with only two 24-way adjustable captain’s chairs in the rear. These chairs can be adjusted to a nearly reclining position and, together with the luxurious alpaca wool carpeting, create a luxurious VIP lounge-like atmosphere.

The rear seats are equipped with a whopping 43-inch 4K large display, transforming them into a dedicated cinema space. This is a size that surpasses the rear display of the BMW i7 and is the first example of the large screen installed in the Mercedes-Benz Vision V concept being implemented in a mass-produced car.

The performance is also worthy of its high-end specifications. The dual-motor model based on the 800V electric system produces a maximum of 778 horsepower and reaches 100 km/h (62 mph) from a standstill in just 3.9 seconds. The top speed is 230 km/h (143 mph), which is an unusual level for an electric minivan. The battery has a capacity of 108 kWh and provides a driving range of about 702 km (436 miles) according to the Chinese CLTC standard.

In terms of the exterior, gold details have been applied extensively, breaking away from the existing silver theme. Actual gold plating has been applied to some areas, such as the upper strip of the window and the door handle trim, and gold accents have also been added to the lower door line, front bumper blade, and emblem.

The 009 Grand Collector’s Edition is priced at 123,150 USD more than double the price of the base model. Although it is very popular in China, Zeekr has not yet officially announced plans to launch the model in overseas markets such as Europe or North America.

Meanwhile, Zeekr is pushing the 7X SUV to conquer the European market, which has been well-received in local test drives in Portugal as a more luxurious alternative to the Tesla Model Y.
