Design Takes Cues from Toyota’s Urban Cruiser EV Concept

Based on rendering previews, the next-generation Corolla Cross will adopt styling elements from the Urban Cruiser EV concept, reflecting Toyota’s latest design language. Key changes include a grille-less “hammerhead” front fascia and sleek LED headlamps that convey a sharper, more modern aesthetic.

The side profile retains a clean, straight-edged silhouette with minimal ornamentation, while the rear design introduces more angular lines—enhancing both visual appeal and cargo practicality. These updates signal Toyota’s intent to balance trend-conscious design with everyday functionality, a key consideration for family-oriented buyers.

A Practical SUV with a Premium Edge

The upcoming Corolla Cross is expected to maintain its upright, confident stance while pursuing a more refined visual identity. By avoiding over-styling and focusing on proportion and form, the model seeks to deliver a product that resonates with both style-minded and utility-focused customers—especially the “dad drivers” demographic prioritizing family practicality.

Interior and Powertrain Set for Significant Upgrades

Inside, the Corolla Cross is slated for a major technology overhaul. A larger touchscreen infotainment system and fully digital instrument cluster will headline the interior upgrades. Toyota aims to deliver a more intuitive user interface, enhanced connectivity features, and improved in-car convenience—further elevating the vehicle’s appeal to tech-savvy consumers.

Underpinning the SUV will be an updated version of the TNGA-C platform, engineered for weight reduction and improved fuel economy. The vehicle is also expected to feature Toyota’s new 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine, with multiple powertrain options including turbocharged, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid variants. This powertrain flexibility aligns with Toyota’s push to offer scalable electrification across global markets.
