Geely Auto, a strong player in China’s electric vehicle (EV) market and the parent company behind premium brand Zeekr, is drawing attention with the launch of a budget-friendly EV. The newly updated 2025 Panda Mini is now available in China, starting at just 49,900 yuan (approximately 7,200 USD).
Previously, the Panda Mini cost 29,900 yuan (5.8 million KRW or 4,400 USD) and 53,900 yuan (approximately 7,900 USD). With the 2025 version, Geely aims to expand its presence in China’s small EV segment. The latest model brings updates in styling, range, and features to appeal to cost-conscious city drivers.

Fresh Look and Simplified Interior
One of the standout design changes in the new Panda Mini is a black trim piece stretching across the round headlights, giving it a distinctive front appearance. The charging port is conveniently located between the headlights. A black bumper with sculpted trim adds a 3D effect. Circular wheel arches contrast with clean lines along the sides, and the new 13-inch three-spoke wheels complete the exterior look.
Buyers can choose from four exterior colors: beige, pink, white, and blue. The vehicle is 3,085 mm (121.4 in) long, 1,522 mm (59.9 in) wide, and 1,600 mm (63 in) high, and has a wheelbase of 2,015 mm (79.3 in). The Panda Mini is built for urban environments.
The minimalist design offers three interior color themes: pink, black, and green. Physical buttons are minimized, with key functions controlled through a central 9.2-inch touchscreen. The updated instrument cluster, slim air vents, and rotary gear selector add to the modern feel. A passenger-side storage shelf has been removed to improve airbag safety. Standard convenience features include a multifunction steering wheel, smartphone holder, and bag hook.

130-Mile Range and City-Focused Performance
The Panda Mini has a 17 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery and a rear-mounted motor producing 30 kW (about 40 hp). Under the Chinese CLTC cycle, the 2025 Panda Mini can travel up to 210 km (130 miles) on a single charge. With a 22 kW DC fast charger, it takes about 30 minutes to charge from 30% to 80%. While its power output is modest, the compact and lightweight design is expected to make it well-suited for city driving.
The car’s top speed is capped at 100 km/h (62 mph), which may limit its suitability for high-speed driving. However, its 4-meter (13.1 ft) turning radius makes it easy to turn and park in tight city spaces. Basic safety features include dual airbags, ESP, a rearview camera, parking sensors, and a 69-liter (2.4 cu ft) trunk. It also has an 8-inch digital gauge cluster and a 9.2-inch infotainment screen.
Geely appears to be reinforcing its presence in the electric city car segment with the Panda Mini, which offers a competitive price and features suited for urban use. The model will likely generate market interest with its range, charging efficiency, and functional interior, aligning with or surpassing industry standards. The Panda Mini’s affordability is expected to attract consumers prioritizing practicality, while its styling may appeal to younger and design-conscious buyers.
