Lincoln’s flagship full-size sport utility vehicle (SUV), the all-new Navigator, is set to hit the market later this year.

Slated for an official launch as early as Q2, this fifth-generation Navigator represents a complete overhaul and is poised to compete head-on with premium large SUVs like the Cadillac Escalade.

Blending Luxury Design with Cutting-Edge Technology

The redesigned Navigator embodies Lincoln’s latest design language, drawing inspiration from the Nautilus. It departs from its predecessor’s boxy silhouette, embracing smoother, more fluid lines for a contemporary aesthetic.

Up front, a horizontal light bar connects the headlamps and grille, enhancing visual width. The Lincoln Embrace welcome lighting elevates the premium feel as drivers approach. At the rear, a full-width light bar spans the tailgate, which now features a split design for improved functionality and upscale appeal.

The base Reserve trim boasts satin chrome and aluminum finishes, while the range-topping Black Label trim features high-gloss black accents for a distinctive luxury touch. With dimensions of 210.0 inches long, 93.8 inches wide (including mirrors), 78.0 inches tall, and a 122.5-inch wheelbase, the Navigator commands an imposing presence.

It’s grown about 2 inches wider and taller than its predecessor, with roughly 20% more cargo space for enhanced practicality. Inside, occupants are treated to a 48-inch panoramic display, 11.1-inch center touchscreen, piano key shifter, 28-speaker Revel Ultima 3D audio system, and power-folding third-row seats.

The expanded cargo area is ideal for long trips and family outings, while premium materials and meticulous craftsmanship deliver best-in-class quietness and comfort.

Powerful Performance Outshines Competitors

Under the hood, a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine pairs with a 10-speed automatic transmission, producing a robust 446 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque. Despite its nearly 6,000-pound curb weight, the standard full-time four-wheel-drive system propels the Navigator from 0-60 mph (0 to 100 km/h) in a mere 5.3 seconds.

Reviewers praise the Navigator’s driving dynamics as both solid and refined. Its adaptive suspension minimizes body roll and smooths out the ride, even at highway speeds, delivering a composed experience for passengers.

With a class-leading tow rating of 8,700 pounds – over 1,000 pounds more than the Mercedes-Benz GLS or BMW X7 – the Navigator is a standout choice for those needing to haul large trailers or boats. While retaining its body-on-frame construction, the new Navigator significantly improves ride quality and technological sophistication. It’s poised to challenge the Mercedes-Benz GLS, BMW X7, and Cadillac Escalade in the ultra-luxury SUV segment. U.S. pricing starts at 99,995 USD for the Reserve trim and 118,490 USD for the Black Label, representing an increase of about 18,500 USD over the outgoing model and positioning it above the Cadillac Escalade.
