DENZA’s high-performance sports car was spotted in production-ready test form, drawing significant attention across the automotive industry. The latest images reveal a nearly finalized design, featuring a hardtop two-door layout with seating for four. What makes this model particularly notable is its expected price of 42,000 USD, paired with performance capabilities reportedly comparable to those of the Porsche 911. This combination of affordability and performance positions it as a potentially disruptive competitor in the global sports car segment.

The prototype features a refined silhouette and confident styling. The front lip and hood contribute to an aggressive look, while the car’s low center of gravity and wide stance align with traditional supercar proportions. Its dimensions, observed during testing alongside a Porsche 911, appear comparable, further highlighting DENZA’s ambition to compete directly in the high-performance market.

Performance-Focused Design with a Practical Twist

The front end incorporates aerodynamic features like a low-profile hood and flared side sections that help generate downforce. The prominent front lip contributes to the car’s aggressive stance and speed. The overall proportions, paired with 275/35 R21 high-performance tires, are designed to support excellent road handling and stability.

From the side, frameless doors and a streamlined roofline evoke the aesthetic of high-end sports cars. A sharply raked windshield reduces aerodynamic drag, while the rear includes a large spoiler and a sculpted bumper, emphasizing the car’s performance-oriented design.

The interior takes a different approach from traditional sports cars, focusing on comfort and daily usability. It features a thick four-spoke steering wheel and a floating infotainment display, highlighting its identity as an electric vehicle. This indicates DENZA’s intention to blend high performance with everyday practicality.

A New Era of Value-Driven Hypercars

Although full technical specifications have not yet been disclosed, the DENZA sports car is expected to feature a high-performance electric powertrain. With BYD already showcasing an 810 kW (approximately 1,100 horsepower) system, this model may include a dual—or tri-motor setup delivering between 600 and 800 horsepower. Based on the tire specification, the top speed will exceed 300 km/h (186 mph).

Perhaps the most surprising aspect is the price. DENZA reportedly plans to price the vehicle at around 300,000 CNY (approximately 41,000 USD), roughly the same as a Genesis G80. With a performance comparable to the Porsche 911, this model positions itself as a value-driven high-performance vehicle, potentially reshaping consumer expectations in the sports car segment.

The DENZA sports car will debut at the upcoming Shanghai Motor Show, where more detailed specifications and production timelines will be shared. Industry observers are watching closely to see whether this accessible performance EV can establish a foothold in a market traditionally dominated by legacy luxury brands.
