On Tuesday, Genesis unveiled two groundbreaking models at its Genesis House cultural space in Manhattan, New York, signaling a bold expansion of its design vision and motorsport ambitions.

The event marked the world premiere of the X Gran Equator Concept, an all-electric off-road SUV, and the debut of the GMR-001 hypercar, shown in full scale with its official racing livery.

X Gran Equator Concept: A Refined Electric Off-Roader
The X Gran Equator Concept is Genesis’ latest design study. It merges urban sophistication with rugged all-terrain capability. As an electrified SUV, the concept embodies Genesis’ design philosophy of athletic elegance, with clean lines and well-proportioned surfaces that highlight both utility and luxury.

Notable exterior elements include a long hood, pronounced C-pillar, split-opening tailgate, roof rack, and beadlock wheels. These balance off-road functionality with upscale practicality. The interior pairs analog-inspired details with advanced digital interfaces, offering an intuitive and harmonious user experience.

GMR-001 Hypercar: A Vision for Endurance Racing
Sharing the spotlight was the GMR-001, Genesis’ first hypercar designed for endurance racing. The high-performance model highlights Genesis’ commitment to motorsports, featuring signature brand elements such as the two-line headlight motif, aerodynamic parabola-shaped bodywork, and a dynamic stance that echoes Genesis’ evolving identity.
The Magma Racing livery—unveiled for the first time on the GMR-001—features a bold gradient that transitions from bright orange to deep red, incorporating the Korean word “마그마” (Magma) to evoke a sense of energy and cultural heritage. Genesis also revealed its official racing suit, complete with the brand’s G-Matrix pattern, reinforcing the visual link between the car, the team, and the brand’s performance ethos.

Motorsport Roadmap: WEC and WTSCC Entries Planned
Genesis confirmed it will enter the World Endurance Championship (WEC) in 2026 and the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship (WTSCC) in 2027. The GMR-001 will serve as a cornerstone of Genesis Magma Racing’s global competitive efforts.
“Today’s unveiling of the GMR-001 and the Magma racing gear is a milestone for Genesis’ motorsport strategy,” said Cyril Abiteboul, Team Principal of Genesis Magma Racing. “We are building a new performance legacy for the brand—one rooted in innovation and identity.”
