Genesis is taking bold steps to enhance its in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) systems. The automaker plans to launch its proprietary music streaming service, Genesis Music, and the global news platform, Bloomberg App, across its entire lineup. This move aims to deliver a premium, differentiated content experience for passengers.

Genesis announced that starting Thursday, it will offer Genesis Music and the Bloomberg App free of charge through over-the-air (OTA) software updates. This applies to vehicles equipped with the company’s connected car Integrated Cockpit (ccIC) infotainment system.

While the Bloomberg App will be available across all models, Genesis Music will initially be accessible in most vehicles, excluding the 2024 G90, pre-facelift GV60, and GV70 electrified models. The GV70 EV is slated to receive the update later this year.

Customers can activate these new features via wireless software updates, eliminating the need for service center visits. Accessing the new content requires no separate account creation or paid subscription.

Genesis Music showcases the brand’s commitment to superior audio experiences, leveraging the in-vehicle Dolby Atmos spatial sound system to deliver immersive audio. Users can explore curated playlists and enjoy recommended tracks without connecting their smartphones. The service also bypasses potential sound quality loss associated with Bluetooth connections. This update makes Genesis Music available free of charge for up to five years.

The Bloomberg App offers exclusive content featuring three real-time services: Bloomberg TV+, Bloomberg Originals, and a news feed. Bloomberg TV+ and the news feed support translation in five languages: Korean, Chinese, German, French, and Arabic. The app is accessible without login credentials, and the unlimited free usage period extends through October 2026.

As an added perk, Genesis offers a complimentary one-year subscription to Bloomberg’s content platform, valued at $299, for buyers of the G90, G80, and GV80. This subscription allows access to Bloomberg content across personal devices such as smartphones and tablets.

A Genesis spokesperson stated that this new software update will allow customers to enjoy high-quality premium content easily without cumbersome registration processes and emphasized the company’s commitment to continuously improving the in-car content experience.
