The Lynk & Co 900, a full-size SUV, is making waves in the automotive world with its futuristic design and cutting-edge features. The vehicle, which boasts a front end adorned with over 10,000 LEDs, introduces a groundbreaking “light screen” capable of displaying text and animations—pushing the boundaries of automotive lighting technology.

Produced by Lynk & Co, a joint venture between China’s Geely Automotive and Sweden’s Volvo, the 900 launched pre-orders on March 25. This flagship SUV measures over 5.2 meters (204.7 inches) in length and is already garnering attention for its luxurious design, impressive performance, and state-of-the-art features.

Design, Space, and Functionality: The Total Package

The Lynk & Co 900’s exterior embodies the “Next Day” design philosophy. Its standout feature is the dense array of over 10,000 LED lamps embedded across the front. The headlights and daytime running lights (DRLs) are separated, with the DRLs extending along the hood line to create a unique visual signature.

The side profile and rear design resemble the prestigious silhouette of a Range Rover. Strong, linear elements throughout reinforce a commanding presence on the road.

The cabin is packed with futuristic features.

The first row boasts a 30-inch integrated display spanning the driver and passenger areas. The second row features a large ceiling-mounted display, giving rear-seat passengers the same premium entertainment setup as those in the front.

The driver’s cockpit features a 12.6-inch digital instrument cluster, complemented by a smaller touchscreen behind the center console for precise control of vehicle functions.

A massive 95-inch augmented reality head-up display (AR-HUD) adds to the high-tech experience, projecting key driving information directly into the driver’s line of sight.

Audio quality is also top-notch, with 31 Harman Kardon speakers delivering immersive sound. The 900 includes a refrigerator and a warming drawer, ideal features for long-distance travel.

Cabin flexibility is another highlight. The second-row seats slide up to 550mm (21.6 inches), and the third row adjusts by 125mm (4.9 inches). This layout, supported by Volvo’s SPA Evo platform and hybrid chassis, offers generous interior space, with a maximum wheelbase of 3,330mm (131.1 inches).

Power, Range, and Speed: A Triple Threat

The Lynk & Co 900 offers a choice of powertrains: a 1.5-liter or 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine paired with two or three electric motors in a plug-in hybrid configuration.

The range-topping trim generates over 600 horsepower, giving this large SUV surprisingly quick acceleration.

CATL battery packs power the electric motors in either 44.85 kWh or 52.38 kWh capacities. In electric-only mode, the 900 can travel up to 280 km (174 miles). When combined with the gasoline engine, the total driving range extends to an impressive 1,443 km (896.5 miles).

Charging is quick and convenient. With fast-charging technology, the battery can charge from 20% to 80% in just 17 minutes, an ideal feature for families who often take long trips. High-end models have advanced driver assistance systems, including 11 cameras and 5 radars, delivering Level 2.5 semi-autonomous driving capability.

Pricing starts at 330,000 CNY (approximately $46,000), making the Lynk & Co 900 competitively positioned against top-trim versions of vehicles like the Hyundai Palisade Hybrid. This pricing strategy appeals to buyers in the luxury SUV market.

It is currently available in China and select European markets. The 900 is already drawing strong interest from buyers seeking a spacious family SUV with advanced technology.
