Unveiled on March 21, this model is comparable in size to the BMW X3, marking a significant departure from the brand’s previous image.

Smart officially introduced the production version of the #5 in Europe, following its concept debut at Auto China in April 2024. It is 4,695 mm (184.8 inches) long with a 2,900 mm (114.2 inches) wheelbase. This D-segment SUV is a far cry from Smart’s signature compact two-seaters.

In the UK, the Smart #5 will be offered in five trim levels: Pro, Pro+, Pulse, Premium, and the top-tier Summit Edition.

The #5 features impressive cargo space, with a 72-liter (2.5 cu ft) frunk and a rear cargo area expandable from 630 to 1,530 liters (22.3 to 54 cu ft) with folded seats.

It achieves a 465 km (289 miles) WLTP range, with AC charging taking 8.5 hours and DC fast charging from 10% to 80% in about 30 minutes at over 150 kW.

Higher trims use a 100 kWh NCM battery with an 800-volt architecture. RWD versions produce 267 kW (358 hp) and boast a 590 km (367 miles) range.

The 100 kWh battery supports 400 kW DC charging, enabling a 10–80% charge in just 18 minutes. It also offers V2L (vehicle-to-load) functionality for powering external devices.
