Mercedes-Benz Korea showcased its completely redesigned second-generation Mercedes-AMG GT and other models under the theme “Performance Luxury and Bespoke Excellence.”
The announcement came on Thursday at the 2025 Seoul Mobility Show held at KINTEX in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province. With a vision of delivering “the car everyone aspires to own,” Mercedes-Benz introduced 15 top-tier vehicles and its exclusive customization program, the Manufaktur Program.
Mathias Vaitl, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Korea, emphasized, “For over 140 years, Mercedes-Benz has driven the automotive industry forward through relentless innovation. Our core value has remained constant throughout this journey: to create the vehicles our customers dream of. The premium models and Manufaktur Program we’re showcasing at this motor show reflect our ongoing commitment to meeting the high expectations of our Korean customers.”
The second-generation Mercedes-AMG GT was the highlight of the showcase, marking its debut in Korea. The first model in the new AMG GT lineup, the GT 55 4MATIC+, features a 4.0-liter V8 bi-turbo engine (M177) built under Mercedes-AMG’s “One Man, One Engine” principle. Paired with an AMG Speedshift TCT 9-speed transmission, it delivers a maximum output of 476 horsepower. The peak torque matches the most powerful first-generation GT model, the GT R, at an impressive 700 Nm.
For those seeking even greater performance, the GT 63 S E Performance incorporates a high-performance hybrid system, combining a 4.0-liter V8 bi-turbo engine with an electric motor. It boasts the fastest acceleration among production AMG vehicles, sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds. The car features an AMG high-performance battery with a new cooling module based on Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula 1 racing technology.
The GT 55 4MATIC+ will launch in May, costing 205.6 million KRW (approximately $154,200). The GT 63 S E Performance is slated for release in the latter half of 2025.
Mercedes-Benz is also showcasing a diverse AMG model lineup. The high-performance Mercedes-AMG CLE53 4MATIC+ Coupe is scheduled for launch in the second half of this year. The Mercedes-AMG E 53 Hybrid 4MATIC+ Edition 1 stands out as a limited-edition vehicle, featuring unique interior and exterior design elements that set it apart from other AMG E-Class models. Starting this month, only 10 units will be available in Korea, priced at 160.8 million KRW (approximately $120,600).
Other models on display include the high-performance two-door convertible Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 4MATIC+ Cabriolet, launched in February, and the G-Class Fast to Future, the second collaboration model with Moncler.
The Manufaktur Program allows customers to personalize their vehicles with exclusive exterior colors and premium interior materials. This bespoke option is available primarily for the brand’s top-tier models, including the S-Class, Mercedes-AMG, Mercedes-Maybach, and G-Class.
