The Dacia Jogger, a compact MPV from the Renault Group, has received a facelift, capturing the attention of car enthusiasts. It is significantly popular in Europe, particularly as Dacia’s first hybrid model.

The Jogger, a successor to the Dacia Lodge and Logan MCV, debuted in August 2021 and was officially revealed at a German event that same year. The refreshed model features updated front and rear bumpers and a new grille design.

Striking New Design Features

The facelifted Jogger stands out with a fresh, modern design. The new front headlights, redesigned bumpers, and block-patterned front grille draw inspiration from Dacia’s SUV models, such as the Bigster and Duster, giving the Jogger a more cohesive brand identity. These design updates contribute to a more unified and dynamic appearance for the vehicle.

The Jogger is a vehicle based on the third-generation Dacia Logan and is a front-wheel drive vehicle. The model is currently available in 5-seater and 7-seater models. The model currently on sale boasts a length of 4,547 mm (179.0 inches), a width of 1,784 mm (70.2 inches), a height of 1,632 mm (64.3 inches), and a wheelbase of 2,897 mm (114.0 inches).

Versatile Powertrain Options for Europe

The Jogger offers a variety of powertrains, making it a versatile option for European families. It is available with gasoline engines, including the 1.0L H4Dt TCe 100 and 1.0L H4Dt TCe 110 turbocharged three-cylinder models, and an LPG variant. The hybrid model features a 1.6L H4M I4 engine paired with a 1.2kWh lithium-ion battery, providing an eco-friendly option for drivers.

Since its 2022 launch, the Jogger has earned accolades such as “Family Car of the Year” twice, thanks to its affordability and spacious interior. However, despite its earlier popularity, sales have declined since the beginning of this year.

Dacia’s Strategy for Family Vehicles

The Jogger is currently Dacia’s only 7-seater model, a strategic move aimed at tapping into the family vehicle market. Dacia seeks to carve out a niche in the European mid-size SUV segment by offering a spacious and affordable option for large families. With its competitive pricing, starting at €18,400 (approximately $19,921), the Jogger is positioned as a cost-effective choice for families. However, some critics note that the price has increased significantly since its 2022 launch.

While the Jogger’s cost-effectiveness remains a major selling point, the price increase has sparked mixed reactions. Some appreciate the improvements in design and performance, while others feel that the vehicle’s value proposition is less compelling at its current price point. Regardless, the Jogger remains a strong contender in the family car market, and its updated design and features suggest it will continue to appeal to those seeking practicality and value.

As the European automotive market evolves, it will be interesting to see whether the Jogger can maintain its appeal and whether Dacia will continue to build on its family-focused strategy.
