Volkswagen has introduced its latest campervan motorhome, the Grand California, which promises to set new standards in the campervan market. With improved technology and more efficient use of space compared to its predecessor, the Grand California is poised to strengthen Volkswagen’s position in the highly competitive motorhome segment, particularly in Europe.

The Grand California is expected to gain significant popularity as consumer interest shifts towards motorhomes for camping—especially in lieu of traditional SUVs. This model combines interior convenience with advanced technology, making it a potential game-changer for the campervan market.

Advanced Digital Features for Enhanced Driving Experience

The Grand California has the latest digital technology to optimize driver convenience. It includes two independent infotainment displays, a 10.4-inch and a 12.9-inch screen, both of which support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for seamless smartphone connectivity.

Adding a digital instrument panel and an AI-powered voice assistant takes the user experience to the next level. The voice control system, integrated with ChatGPT, allows drivers to operate vehicle functions and access helpful information on the road, offering a practical solution for everyday driving.

Volkswagen has also significantly upgraded its driver assistance features. Standard equipment now includes travel assist, an electronic parking brake, and the auto hold function, which ensures a safer and more comfortable driving experience, particularly on long journeys.

Optimized for Camping: Spacious and Practical Interior

Interior space and usability are critical factors in any campervan, and the Grand California excels in both areas. It comes with a 70L refrigerator/freezer, a 110L fresh water tank, a two-burner gas range, a sink, an indoor shower, and ample storage space, making it ideal for extended trips.

The new model features a 5-inch vertical camper control panel that simplifies the management of lighting, heating, and power systems. This system is also linked to a smartphone app, which allows users to monitor water tank levels and battery status in real time and adds convenience.
