Tesla has unveiled new renderings of its first drive-in complex, which is under construction in Los Angeles.
The Verge reported on Tuesday that the project, conceived by CEO Elon Musk in 2018, is a 1950s-themed drive-in entertainment space. It will feature the Tesla Diner restaurant service and a Supercharger hub.
Musk had previously announced that Tesla would be putting an old-school drive-in and a rock restaurant at one of the new Tesla Supercharger locations in LA. He added that an outdoor screen would show a highlight reel of the best scenes in movie history.
According to the real estate publication The Real Deal, Tesla has nearly completed the construction of a large Supercharger station on Santa Monica Boulevard.
The two-story facility will feature rooftop seating, a bar, a theater screen showcasing iconic movie clips, and over 30 Superchargers. Stantec Architecture designed the station, while PCL Construction Services managed the build-out.
Tesla ramps up efforts to create Superchargers with enhanced entertainment amenities. Industry analysts predict a growing trend of automakers integrating entertainment features into electric vehicle charging stations.
