Denza is a premium brand originally established through a joint venture between BYD and Mercedes-Benz. However, after Mercedes-Benz sold all its shares in July 2024, BYD now owns 100% of the brand.

The brand’s first model to enter Europe will be the Denza Z9 GT, a large electric vehicle over 5 meters in length. The design was led by former Audi design chief Wolfgang Egger. The sleek styling of the headlamps and rocker panels, along with the striking rear lamp graphics, highlight the vehicle’s bold and luxurious look.

The Z9 GT is equipped with a tri-motor powertrain that delivers a maximum output of 952 horsepower. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (60mph) in just 3.4 seconds. Its driving range per charge reaches 1,101 km based on the CLTC standard.

BYD plans to refine certain features of the Denza Z9 GT to better suit the European market, with the official launch scheduled for the fourth quarter of this year. The second model to be introduced under the Denza brand will be the D9, a plug-in hybrid minivan.

Meanwhile, BYD is also expanding its brand in Europe. This year, the company plans to introduce a diverse lineup in Switzerland, including the Seal, Sea Lion 07, and Song Plus DM-i.
