Peugeot’s new CEO, Alain Favey, first appeared at E-LION DAY last Friday, unveiling the brand’s 2025 business roadmap and objectives.

Favey stated that in addition to its existing electric vehicle (EV) lineup, Peugeot is committed to shaping the brand’s bright, successful, and sustainable future with a customer-centric approach and strengthened partnerships. He emphasized that 2025 will accelerate efforts to deliver tangible results.

In 2024, Peugeot sold approximately 1.1 million vehicles globally, doubling EV sales from the previous year. The brand led Europe in EV sales growth among private customers and maintained leadership in the European B-segment and small commercial vehicle markets. The new Peugeot 3008, set to launch in South Korea this year, has already secured over 120,000 contracts in Europe, with the E-3008 electric model accounting for 22%, outperforming the segment average. A mild hybrid-powered model of the 3008 is scheduled for release in South Korea in 2025.

Peugeot plans to expand its EV lineup this year, accelerating the transition to electrification. The spotlight is on the soon-to-be-launched high-performance versions of the E-3008 and E-5008. These models will feature a 213-horsepower front-wheel-drive electric motor, complemented by a 112-horsepower rear electric motor, delivering a combined 325-horsepower through a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system. A five-seater version of the E-5008 is also set for release this year.

The long-range Peugeot E-3008 and E-5008 models offer industry-leading WLTP ranges of 700 km and 668 km, respectively. Both models incorporate a new battery preconditioning system that works with the cabin heating system to optimize charging times during long-distance winter driving. Future iterations will include an automated management feature through a Trip Planner. When the driver schedules a charging plan, the battery preheating will activate automatically to ensure optimal charging conditions.

Additionally, Peugeot is introducing a wide range of electrified powertrains, including hybrids, plug-in hybrids, and electric vehicles, all built on a shared platform. The company’s 48V hybrid system combines a next-gen 136-horsepower gasoline engine with an electric motor integrated into a six-speed dual-clutch transmission. This setup charges the battery while driving, providing extra low-speed torque and reducing fuel consumption by up to 15%. Up to 50% of city driving is expected to be in fully electric mode.

Peugeot reaffirmed its ambition to lead the EV segment in Europe’s mass market, leveraging its comprehensive EV lineup. The company aims to meet all customer needs through its multi-energy platform strategy, offering hybrids, fully electric vehicles, compact cars, SUVs, and light commercial vehicles (LCVs).

Meanwhile, Peugeot is also strengthening its partnerships with environmental protection organizations like Born Free and Under The Pole. As Born Free’s official education partner, Peugeot supports wildlife conservation through funding, vehicle donations, and ongoing fundraising activities. This year, the company plans to supply Born Free with pickup trucks. Peugeot is also collaborating with Under The Pole to develop educational content on marine conservation and will provide logistical support vehicles for key automotive, diving, and scientific research events.
