The Tucson Hybrid has once again proven its worth, winning over customers with its excellent value and impressive fuel economy.

On Monday, Hyundai Motor announced that it had secured three awards in U.S. News & World Report’s 2025 Best Hybrid and Electric Vehicle (EV) Awards. This prestigious competition rigorously evaluates 115 electrified models based on quality, efficiency, and value, selecting top performers across 10 categories—five for hybrids and five for EVs. In this year’s awards, the Tucson Hybrid clinched the title of Best Hybrid SUV, further cementing its strong market position.

The Tucson Hybrid continues to be a consumer favorite, blending stylish design with practicality. It maintains strong popularity in the compact SUV segment, praised for its sleek exterior and spacious interior.

Under the hood, a Smartstream 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline hybrid engine pairs with a six-speed automatic transmission, delivering 180 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. This powertrain combination ensures smooth and responsive performance in both city and highway driving.

The electric motor adds significant punch, producing 59.7 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. The total system output reaches 235 horsepower, providing impressive acceleration while maintaining the quiet operation typical of hybrids.

Fuel economy is a standout feature, with the Tucson Hybrid achieving 16.2 km/l combined (17.0 km/l city, 15.2 km/l highway). This balance of efficiency and performance is a key selling point for the model.

The hybrid system optimizes the use of the electric motor and gasoline engine based on driving conditions to minimize fuel consumption. During start-up and low-speed driving, the vehicle operates solely on electric power, significantly reducing fuel use.

Additionally, regenerative braking captures energy during deceleration, converting it back to electricity to recharge the battery. This technology contributes to the Tucson Hybrid’s particularly impressive urban fuel economy.

The Tucson Hybrid offers generous interior space with dimensions of 4,640 mm (approximately 182.68 inches) in length, 1,865 mm (approximately 73.43 inches) in width, and 1,665 mm (approximately 65.55 inches) in height, plus a wheelbase of 2,755 mm (approximately 108.46 inches). Rear passengers enjoy ample room, and the cargo area is sufficiently spacious for family use.

The Tucson Hybrid also earns high marks for its advanced driver assistance systems and upgraded infotainment features, enhancing both safety and convenience.

Smart cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and forward collision-avoidance assist help reduce driver fatigue during daily commutes. The large display and intuitive interface further enrich the user experience.

Pricing for the 2025 Tucson Hybrid starts at 25,170 USD, but with current incentives including tax reductions, hybrid discounts, inventory discounts, and trade-in bonuses, the price of the model can drop to as low as 22,185 USD. This competitive pricing makes the Tucson Hybrid an attractive option for value-conscious buyers looking for a capable and efficient SUV.
