Audi signaled its intention to expand its flagship SUV lineup with a new large model inspired by the Urban Sphere concept. Tentatively called the Q10, the vehicle is quickly advancing toward production and is expected to launch in 2027. It is positioned to compete with full-size luxury SUVs like the Genesis GV90, Cadillac Escalade, and Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV, offering more excellent dimensions and higher-end features than the current Q7 and Q8.

The Q10 will distinguish itself through design. It is expected to evolve Audi’s SUV design language by blending elements from sedans and MPVs. Notable features include vertically separated LED headlights and a three-dimensional single-frame grille with a pixel-inspired graphic panel, which serves aesthetic and functional roles. These design updates aim to strengthen Audi’s visual identity in its next generation of electric vehicles (EVs).

Anticipated Body Structure Based on PPE Platform for the Flagship

The size makes it clear what market this SUV targets. The Q10 is 5,500 mm (216.5 inches) long, 1,800 mm (70.9 inches) high, and has a wheelbase of 3,400 mm (133.9 inches). It presents a much larger and more imposing presence than the existing Q8. The interior will accommodate up to four passengers, featuring a private space that integrates lounge and office functions centered around VIP seating. This strategy of upsizing also overlaps traditional distinctions between SUV segments and luxury MPVs.

The body structure will likely be based on the PPE (Premium Platform Electric) platform, co-developed by Audi and Porsche. This platform has proven its stability and performance in models like the Audi Q6 e-tron and Porsche Macan EV. It is expected to feature an electric powertrain with a dual-motor setup and an 800V high-voltage system, delivering an output of around 400 horsepower.

In addition to EVs, Audi will likely offer a PHEV (plug-in hybrid electric vehicle) powertrain option. This strategy aims to meet diverse global market demands by providing various eco-friendly powertrain options that comply with regulations and consumer preferences in different countries.

The Interior Equipped with Cutting-Edge Technology: A Mobile Premium Living Room

The interior is designed to go beyond conventional SUV expectations, offering a space akin to a high-end lounge. High-quality, eco-friendly materials such as bamboo, aluminum, and velvet will be prominently used. The rear seats will feature reclining capabilities, and a panoramic screen will be mounted on the ceiling, drawing visual interest. Audi’s signature future technologies, including AI-based driver profiling, MMI touch response control, and gesture recognition UI, are expected to be included in the production version.

The Q10 is expected to feature advanced technology like a suspension control system that adjusts based on road conditions, full-range active lighting, and semi-autonomous driving capabilities. These innovations will likely shape a new understanding of what defines a luxury SUV. Rather than simply following market trends, Audi’s entry into the high-end electric SUV segment reflects a clear vision rooted in its design philosophy and engineering strengths.

The vehicle is anticipated to launch around 2027. Depending on trim levels, the estimated starting price is approximately $105,000.
