Toyota has unveiled the new Land Cruiser 300 Series. While the exterior remains unchanged, the latest model emphasizes advanced digital features and enhanced security systems.

The Land Cruiser is one of Toyota’s most iconic SUVs, boasting a long history. This updated version delivers significant improvements in performance and convenience.

Unrivaled Systems and Enhanced Security

The new Land Cruiser 300 Series has a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch touchscreen display.

Security features have been significantly upgraded. A fingerprint recognition start button now comes standard across all trims, reducing the theft risk. The “My Car Start Lock” feature also enables users to lock the engine remotely using a phone.

The model also includes an alarm system with a tilt sensor and an immobilizer to prevent unauthorized access.

Given that the Land Cruiser is one of Japan’s most frequently stolen vehicles, this upgrade appears to be part of Toyota’s strategy to bolster consumer trust through enhanced security.

Latest Safety and Collision Prevention Technology

The standard package now includes a collision mitigation braking system that recognizes bicycles and pedestrians, helping to reduce the risk of accidents.

An event data recorder has also been installed, enabling detailed analysis of accidents by capturing critical data. Cybersecurity for electronic systems has been improved to enhance in-vehicle device protection.

Advanced driver assistance systems, such as an electronically adjustable steering wheel and lane-keeping assist, come standard, reducing fatigue on long journeys and improving driving stability.

Powertrain Remains Strong

The new Land Cruiser 300 Series continues to use the same engines as the previous version: a 3.5-liter V6 gasoline twin-turbo engine (415 horsepower, 66.3 kg·m torque) and a 3.3-liter V6 diesel twin-turbo engine (309 horsepower, 71.4 kg·m torque).

Both variants are paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and a full-time four-wheel-drive system, delivering powerful performance. The gasoline version provides strong acceleration, while the diesel version offers excellent fuel efficiency and towing capabilities.

Pricing and Demand Trends

The base model starts at 5,252,500 JPY ($35,000), while the GR Sport trim is 8,136,800 JPY ($54,000).

Despite a price increase of around $890 to $1,020 depending on the trim, demand has surged, and new orders have been temporarily halted in Japan. Due to high global demand, adjustments to the production schedule may be necessary.

The new Land Cruiser 300 Series boosts its competitiveness with upgraded security systems, the latest digital features, and a potent powertrain.

Demand in Japan is so strong that orders have been suspended, and the model is expected to continue performing well in global markets. The Land Cruiser’s long-standing reputation and reliability are anticipated to continue with this latest release.
