Chinese automaker BYD has unveiled two flagship models—the Han L sedan and Tang L SUV—both equipped with next-generation ultra-fast charging technology. Built on BYD’s latest 1000V Super e-platform, these vehicles can achieve up to 400 km (249 miles) of driving range with just a 5-minute charge. In addition to their remarkable efficiency, the models also incorporate BYD’s advanced Depilot 300 autonomous driving suite, branded as God’s Eye B, offering automated parking and highway assist functions.

Han L Sedan: Fast Charging Meets High-End Performance
The Han L sedan features BYD’s new flash-charging battery system and a high-voltage 1000V architecture. With an 83.2 kWh blade battery, the sedan can reach a full charge in just 20 minutes and travel up to 701 km (436 miles) on a single charge (CLTC). It also supports dual charging guns for even greater efficiency. Dimensionally, the vehicle stretches 5,050 mm long, slightly larger than Hyundai’s Azera, offering a roomy, premium full-size sedan experience.
Multiple Powertrain Options and Impressive Acceleration
Buyers can choose between the Han L’s rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive variants. The rear-wheel drive offers balanced acceleration (0–100 km/h in 5.5 seconds) with the longest range, while the high-performance AWD version accelerates from 0–100 km/h in just 2.7 seconds, albeit with a shorter range of 601 km (373 miles). A hybrid version is also available, combining a 1.5L turbo engine with an electric motor, delivering 200 km (124 miles) of electric range and a total range of 1,400 km (870 miles).

Han L Sedan Pricing and Market Positioning
The Han L sedan is competitively priced in the premium EV market, starting at 219,800 CNY (approximately 30,101 USD). The highest trim level is priced at 279,800 yuan (around 38,319 USD), making it an attractive option for buyers seeking a high-performance, fast-charging luxury EV at a relatively accessible price point.
Tang L SUV: Full-Size Utility Meets Advanced Tech
The Tang L SUV mirrors the Han L’s fast-charging capabilities, delivering 370 km (230 miles) of range in just 5 minutes. With similar dimensions to the Hyundai Palisade, the Tang L comes equipped with a 100.53 kWh 2nd-gen blade battery. It offers up to 670 km (416 miles) of range in the rear-wheel variant, and slightly reduced ranges for the AWD and drone-equipped models. A standout feature is the integrated rooftop drone, which can be deployed at the push of a button and fly up to 2 km.

Interior Comfort and Cutting-Edge Convenience
Inside the Tang L, a 7-seat (2+3+2) configuration delivers versatility and comfort, featuring heated, ventilated, and massaging front seats. Cargo capacity reaches up to 1,960L with the rear seats folded. Technological enhancements include a 15.6-inch rotating display, an augmented reality head-up display, wireless charging, a digital instrument cluster, and a built-in center console refrigerator. The D-Link 5.0 infotainment system allows comprehensive vehicle and media control.

Strategic Global Appeal through Innovation
BYD’s latest offerings directly address one of the most pressing limitations of EVs—long charging times—through its pioneering ultra-fast charging platform. The Han L and Tang L are positioned to attract global attention with compelling specs, advanced driver-assist systems, and competitive pricing. As the EV market becomes more performance-driven and convenience-focused, BYD’s commitment to fast, accessible electrification could significantly expand its footprint beyond China.
