Kia introduced its highly anticipated EV2 Concept Car on February 24 at the 2025 Kia EV Day event in Spain. This compact SUV, designed for global markets, is perfectly sized for urban driving. It is engineered to excel in city environments and combines a compact footprint with an interior that maximizes space and efficiency.

The EV2’s spacious interior features a front trunk and second-row seats that fold and recline. Kia designed the vehicle to meet various customer needs, ensuring a comfortable and versatile experience.

The production version of the EV2 will launch in Europe next year, and Kia aims to sell 100,000 units annually.

Futuristic Exterior Design

The EV2 Concept Car’s design features futuristic features, such as the split Star Map signature lighting at the front. This unique design element will also be integrated into other future Kia models, helping establish a distinct visual identity across the brand.

This signature lighting enhances the EV2’s appearance and underscores Kia’s commitment to innovation in line with its electrification strategy. The forward-thinking design is expected to strengthen Kia’s brand image and resonate with consumers looking for cutting-edge automotive design.

In addition, the redesigned Kia Seltos, which will debut soon, will feature design elements from the EV2 Concept Car. This strategy helps maintain brand consistency and ensures stylistic continuity across Kia’s upcoming vehicle lineup.

EV4 and PV5 Unveiled

Alongside the EV2, Kia introduced the EV4 and PV5 models at the 2025 Kia EV Day event.

The EV4 is impressive for its long-range capabilities. It features an 81.4kWh battery that offers a full charge of 533 kilometers (approximately 331 miles). As the longest-range electric vehicle in the Hyundai Motor Group, the EV4 presents a compelling option for consumers seeking more range in their electric cars.

With this unveiling, Kia continues to expand its electrified vehicle offerings, aiming to boost electric vehicle adoption and make EVs more accessible to a broader audience.

In addition to the EV4, Kia introduced the PV5, marking the first model in its Purpose-Built Vehicle (PBV) business strategy. This model is part of Kia’s efforts to strengthen its electrification strategy and enhance its position in the competitive global electric vehicle market.

Market Outlook and Pricing for the EV2

Kia CEO Song Ho Sung has set an annual sales target of over 100,000 units for the EV2, stating, “The EV2 will meet customer demand in the European electric vehicle market.”

The EV2 is expected to be priced around €30,000 (approximately $31,439) in Europe. Kia is confident that this price point will enhance its competitiveness in the EV market. Song noted, “The demand for vehicles priced between €30,000 and €35,000 (about $36,678) accounts for more than 30% of the European market.”

The production version of the EV2 will include premium features such as a front trunk, vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability, and over-the-air (OTA) software updates, optimizing consumers’ electric vehicle experience.

With the EV2, Kia is poised to continue innovating, offering customers an advanced and dynamic driving experience in the evolving electric vehicle market.
