The Jeep Avenger, boasting a bold design, robust off-road capabilities, and electric SUV efficiency, is gearing up for fierce competition in the South Korean market. Stellantis Korea’s February-limited advance subsidy program to ease EV purchase costs has particularly piqued consumer interest.

Avenger: Compact Electric SUV with Jeep DNA

The Avenger, a subcompact SUV measuring about 13.4 feet (4.1 meters) in length, showcases impressive all-terrain performance with its 18-inch wheels and generous 7.9-inch (20 cm) ground clearance.

Its powertrain features a 400V system-based single motor (front-wheel drive) that generates 154 horsepower and 26.5kg·m (260 Nm) of torque.

The 54.0kWh battery enables DC fast charging (up to 100kW) and replenishes from 20% to 80% in just 24 minutes. It offers a range of up to 181 miles (292km) on a full charge.

The interior prioritizes functionality, featuring a dashboard with an integrated color panel and air vents, a 10.3-inch touchscreen, and a digital instrument cluster (available in 7.0 or 10.3 inches).

The center console includes a wireless charging pad and space for a 50-ounce (1.5-liter) water bottle, enhancing practicality. The 13.0 cubic-foot (368-liter) trunk caters to both urban lifestyles and outdoor adventures.

Up to $6,800 in Benefits… Subsidies Ease Price Concerns

Stellantis Korea proactively offers support equivalent to federal and state subsidies to consumers hesitant to purchase before EV incentive confirmations.

As a result, Avenger buyers can receive a minimum benefit of 5.39 million won ($3,700), with the highest subsidies reaching up to 7.79 million won ($5,350) in certain states.

Depending on trim level, the Avenger’s South Korean launch price ranges from 52.9 million to 56.4 million won ($36,000 to $39,000). However, the effective purchase price is expected to decrease significantly with these subsidy benefits, manufacturer promotions, and additional perks like dashcams and toll transponders.

As the electric vehicle market expands, industry watchers are keen to see how consumers respond to the Avenger’s blend of practicality and off-road appeal.
