A Milestone Achievement in Canada’s SUV Market

This marks Hyundai’s third win for Utility Vehicle of the Year in the past four years, solidifying its continued success in the competitive SUV segment. The Santa Fe triumphed over strong contenders such as the Mazda CX-70 and Toyota Land Cruiser. The Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC) commended Santa Fe for its “superior ergonomics and user-friendly infotainment system.” Hyundai’s consistent excellence in this category highlights Santa Fe’s ability to meet the needs of Canadian drivers, offering a combination of practicality, convenience, and a comfortable driving experience.

Ioniq 5 N Takes the Lead in Electric Utility Vehicles

In the electric utility vehicle category, the Ioniq 5 N outperformed rivals like the Kia EV9 and Mazda CX-70 PHEV, winning the Electric Utility Vehicle of the Year award. The Ioniq 5 N impressed jurors with its “impressive 641-horsepower output” and “exhilarating driving dynamics,” further enhanced by the innovative N e-shift feature. Hyundai’s high-performance electric SUV is setting a new benchmark in the EV market by combining exceptional power with a thrilling driving experience.

Hyundai’s Dual Wins: A Remarkable Achievement

AJAC CEO Evan Williams praised Hyundai’s remarkable achievement, noting that the Santa Fe excels in practicality and convenience while the Ioniq 5 N redefines the thrill of electric driving. These dual-category wins highlight Hyundai’s leadership in both traditional SUVs and high-performance EVs, further strengthening its reputation as an industry innovator.

As Hyundai continues to deliver cutting-edge, high-quality vehicles, its success in Canada is expected to impact its performance in global markets positively. A representative from Hyundai Motor Company stated, “This award is a recognition of the product’s quality in the Canadian market,” emphasizing the brand’s ongoing commitment to excellence.

The Canadian Car of the Year awards, presented by the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada, are considered the country’s most prestigious automotive honors. A panel of 47 automotive experts and journalists rigorously evaluates and votes on the winners.
