Toyota Korea will begin full-fledged participation in the domestic motorsports scene starting with the 2025 O-NE Superrace Championship, which kicks off on April 19. Beginning this year, the name of the series’ top-tier class will be changed to the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing 6000 Class, with the aim of more actively promoting the brand’s racing philosophy and values to Korean fans.

Since 2020, Toyota Korea has participated as a cowl sponsor in the 6000 Class using a car styled after the GR Supra. As of 2025, the company has expanded its involvement to become the official naming sponsor. Through this move, Korean fans will be able to experience the philosophy and value of the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing brand more directly.

The Prius PHEV Class—the only plug-in hybrid one-make race in Korea—will also officially begin its second season. Comprising only the fifth-generation Prius PHEV, which has been available in South Korea since December 2023, the race will feature 18 drivers this year competing in fierce matches.

A variety of customer participation programs will also be available at the event. The GR Racing Class will involve 30 teams, including 25 teams of GR Supra and GR86 owners and 5 Lexus customer teams. Participants will receive sports driving education, circuit driving sessions, and one-on-one coaching from instructors to experience dynamic driving.

The GR Kids Superrace School, targeted at children, will be held across four rounds including the season opener and finale. Children aged 5 and older and between 110 cm and 140 cm in height will receive hands-on experience driving GR electric karts, along with traffic safety education.

A variety of activities will also be available at the Toyota GR brand booth for motorsports fans. Interactive content will include displays of the GR Supra stock car and GR86, GR-themed photo events, GR RC car racing, and Prius PHEV Class quiz games, all designed to make motorsports culture more accessible and engaging.

Additionally, Toyota Korea will hold a kickoff ceremony for the second generation of Team GR Supporters on April 19. The 12 selected university students will promote the appeal of the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing brand through various online and offline activities throughout the 2025 season.

Manabu Konyama, CEO of Toyota Korea, stated that motorsports form a core foundation of Toyota’s goal to make ever-better cars. He added that the company will continue sharing the joy of motorsports with more customers through diverse events and experiential programs.

Through the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing brand, Toyota Korea aims to establish motorsports as a culture that everyone can enjoy and will continue contributing to the growth of Korea’s motorsports culture.
