Zeekr, the electric vehicle brand under China’s Geely Group, is boldly entering the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) market.
Initially an EV-focused brand, Zeekrwillo introduces its first PHEV model with the flagship SUV 9X Grand, which is scheduled for release this fall.
The model will officially debut at the Shanghai Motor Show in April. Its estimated price is 100 million CNY (approximately $138,490).
Ahead of its launch, Zeekr released images and footage from extreme cold-weather testing, which generated significant interest.
Commanding Design Inspired by Range Rover and Cullinan

The revealed images show that the 9X Grand has a commanding presence, which suits its status as a full-size luxury SUV. Its angular body and bold design resemble the Range Rover and Rolls-Royce Cullinan. The front fascia features a dual-tier headlamp design and a large grille, which enhance its premium look.
The side profile features flush door handles that create a sleek silhouette, with potential chrome accents similar to those on Zeekr’s high-end minivan, the 009.

Given its significant dimensions, the interior is expected to be exceptionally spacious. However, its size may pose challenges in standard parking spaces. The LiDAR sensor mounted on the windshield suggests that advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) will be included, possibly featuring automatic parking assist and highway driving assist.
Powerful Hybrid System, 0-100 km/h in Under 4 Seconds

Although Zeekr primarily focused on EV technology, its recent merger with Lynk & Co, known for its PHEV expertise, signals its expansion into the hybrid segment.
Details of the 9X Grand’s powertrain remain undisclosed, but experts anticipate a high-performance hybrid system combining a powerful gasoline engine with multiple electric motors.
Performance estimates indicate that the 9X Grand will accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) in under 4 seconds and offer an all-electric driving range exceeding 97 km (60 miles).
With the 9X Grand, Zeekr is positioning itself as a premium contender in both the EV and hybrid SUV markets.
As Zeekr enters a market dominated by Range Rover and Rolls-Royce Cullinan, the industry is watching closely to see how its ambitious new model will perform.
