BMW’s flagship all-electric SAV, the iX, has claimed the top spot in J.D. Power’s 2025 U.S. Electric Vehicle Ownership Experience Study, earning the Best Electric Vehicle of 2025 title. Additionally, BMW’s premium all-electric 4-door coupe, the i4, secured the second-highest score. This marked a significant achievement for the brand, sweeping the first and second positions in overall rankings.

BMW Demonstrates Strong Competitiveness in the EV Market

The annual J.D. Power U.S. Electric Vehicle Ownership Experience Study evaluates owner satisfaction during the first year of EV ownership. This year’s survey gathered responses from 6,164 owners of 2024 and 2025 model-year battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs).

The study assessed ten key factors: driving performance, charging convenience, vehicle quality and reliability, operating costs, safety features, and technology. The BMW iX scored 790 out of 1,000 points, securing the top position overall and in the premium EV category. The BMW i4 followed closely with 783 points, confirming strong satisfaction among American consumers.

BMW EVs Deliver Superior Performance and Innovation

The BMW iX is the flagship model of BMW’s “i” brand. It combines cutting-edge electric powertrain technology, an innovative exterior design, a luxurious and spacious interior, and dynamic driving performance. In January, BMW introduced an updated version of the iX with an improved electric drive system that enhances efficiency and performance, along with refreshed interior and exterior styling.

The BMW i4 is the brand’s first all-electric four-door coupe. It features an elegant silhouette, sporty design elements, and exceptional space utilization. The i4 continues to embody BMW’s signature “Ultimate Driving Machine” philosophy and maintains strong market appeal.

BMW Strengthens Market Leadership with Sales Growth

BMW has reinforced its position in the global EV market, selling 368,523 electric vehicles last year, an 11.6% increase from the previous year. This performance secured BMW Group’s dominance in premium EV sales.
