KG Mobility (formerly SsangYong Motor) unveiled its MUSSO EV pricing on Tuesday following the confirmation of government subsidies for eco-friendly vehicles.

The MUSSO EV is Korea’s first electric pickup truck. It blends the comfort and efficiency of an electric SUV with the utility of a pickup truck. It is tailored for consumers seeking a versatile lifestyle solution.

The vehicle has an 80.6 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) blade battery with reduced fire risk, improved durability, and a 152.2 kW drive motor. Despite the inherent aerodynamic challenges of a pickup’s open cargo area, the vehicle achieves an impressive range of 249 miles (401 km) on a single charge in its 2WD configuration.

The MUSSO EV has various features, including a utility roof rack, 17-inch diamond-cut wheels, an Alpine audio system, and advanced driver assistance systems like adaptive cruise control. Buyers can customize their vehicle with optional add-ons such as a sunroof, all-wheel drive, self-leveler, and a 3D surround-view monitoring system.

KGM offers the MUSSO EV in two trim levels: the base STD model starting at $36,000 (KRW48 million) and the upscale DLX version at $38,000 (KRW 50.5 million).

The MUSSO EV’s economic advantages extend beyond the purchase price. The five-year driving costs are estimated at around $4,400 (5.8 million KRW), representing potential savings of about $10,500 (14 million KRW) compared to conventional gasoline-powered pickups.

Meanwhile, KGM is strengthening its position in the pickup market with the electric MUSSO EV and offering a range of powertrain options in its well-received Rexton Sports Khan lineup.

KGM introduced the 2025 Rexton Sports Khan, Korea’s No. 1 authentic pickup, earlier this year. The company adjusted its trim levels and options to better align with customer preferences while reducing prices. The Rexton Sports ranges from $22,000 to $26,000 (KRW 29.5 to 34.7 million), with the larger Khan variant priced between $24,000 and $28,000 (KRW 31.7 and 36.9 million ).

KGM emphasizes that the MUSSO EV offers superior cost-effectiveness compared to traditional internal combustion pickups in terms of overall operational expenses from purchase through long-term use. The company positions the MUSSO EV as an economical and practical choice, especially relevant in today’s high fuel prices.
