Jeep Launches Exclusive ’41 Edition Wrangler to Honor Iconic Willys MB, Limited to 50 Units

Jeep is launching a special edition Wrangler, the ’41 Edition, commemorating its iconic military vehicle, the Willys MB. Limited to just 50 units in the local market, this edition pays homage to the Willys MB, a pivotal model in Jeep’s rich history from 1941. The 41 not only represents the year the Willys MB debuted but also nods to its distinctive Olive-Drab color scheme.

The Willys MB was chosen as the standard vehicle in the U.S. Army’s 1940 bid for a light reconnaissance vehicle during World War II. Developed from Willys-Overland’s Quad model, the Jeep name has been catapulted into global recognition. Post-war, Willys-Overland trademarked Jeep and launched the CJ-2A, its first civilian model, marking the start of the brand’s legacy.

True to its military roots, the Wrangler ’41 Edition boasts formidable off-road capabilities. It’s powered by a 2.0-liter inline-4 turbo gasoline engine, which generates an impressive 272 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque. The 8-speed automatic transmission and low-range gearing ensure smooth operation even in challenging terrains. Its 2.72:1 Select-Trac full-time 4WD system delivers reliable performance in harsh conditions, while the Select-Speed Control maintains speeds between 1 to 5 mph in 4-LO mode, perfect for rock crawling.

The ’41 Edition comes equipped with MOPAR® factory auto power side steps (except on the Wrangler Rubicon 2-door) and an exclusive badge. Buyers will also receive exclusive ’41 Edition merchandise, including a whiskey hip flask set and tumbler.

“The ’41 Edition is a testament to the Willys MB’s enduring legacy and plays a crucial role in reinforcing the Jeep brand,” said the CEO of Stellantis Korea, Bang Shil. “This launch kickstarts our plan to introduce a variety of color editions in the future.”

The Wrangler ’41 Edition will be released in February, and pricing will be announced. It will be available in all trims, including the Wrangler Sport S, Rubicon 2-door, Rubicon 4-door hardtop, and PowerTop. Due to its limited availability, further details can be obtained at Jeep dealerships nationwide.
