The all-black IONIQ 6 has been generating buzz among automotive enthusiasts, with its refreshed appearance garnering more positive reactions than its predecessor. While the current model on sale is still the pre-facelift version, the updated IONIQ 6 is expected to hit the market in the latter half of this year.

The redesigned IONIQ 6 features a striking new front end, adopting the slim, elongated headlights first seen on Hyundai’s internal combustion models like the Sonata and Azera. Hyundai describes this as a more refined, future-oriented design. The use of a single, wide line emphasizes the car’s sleek profile while also drawing inspiration from Hyundai’s flagship concept car, the RN22e.

This new face, replacing the thicker headlights of the previous model, now stands as a core of Hyundai’s electric vehicle design. Interestingly, Hyundai has described that this design is more suitable to the N model than the general model, hinting at a possible high-performance IONIQ 6 N to complement the recently unveiled IONIQ 5 N.

Hyundai’s efforts to refine the IONIQ 6’s design extend beyond the front end. Notable changes include the removal of the fixed spoiler at the base of the rear window and a redesigned rear bumper with less prominent cladding. The automaker has also updated its signature pixel-type LED lamps, reducing the size of individual pixels for a more cohesive and sophisticated look.
