BYD’s premium brand, Denza, revealed its first sports concept car, the Denza Z, at Auto Shanghai 2025. The all-electric vehicle is set for an early release.

The Denza Z embodies a high-end sports concept car with a carbon fiber seat design, sub-dashboard, and high-strength roll cage. The extensive use of carbon fiber creates a strong motorsport ambiance, especially in the driver-focused cockpit.

The chassis features BYD’s DiSus-M, a smart magnetorheological suspension system designed for EVs. This system allows real-time suspension adjustments based on magnetorheological fluid dynamics. DiSus-M, unlike conventional dampers, offers continuous bidirectional adjustment for rebound and compression damping. With a response time under 10 milliseconds, it provides quick adaptability, low noise, and proactive adjustments based on road preview data.

Denza developed an in-house steer-by-wire system for the Z, eliminating mechanical connections and providing millisecond-level responsiveness with millimeter-precision steering. This technology enhances safety during co-driving and includes a foldable steering wheel, expanding the driver’s space by 14%.

The concept car will feature Denza’s proprietary e³ platform, with plans to mass-produce both wet and dry brake-by-wire systems.
The 100% in-house developed, fully electronic chassis integrates driving, steering, braking, and suspension systems, showcasing BYD’s expertise in intelligent vehicle architecture.
The Denza Z launch will complete a full lineup, including MPV, SUV, sedan, and sports car models.
