Mercedes-Benz revealed a limited-edition model, the G-Class STRONGER THAN THE 1980s Edition, paying homage to the original G-Class W460.
This exclusive edition blends vintage design elements from the 1980s G-Class with modern technology. Only 460 units were produced globally, making it a rare collector’s model.
Design Reflects 1980s G-Class Legacy

The G-Class 1980s Edition is a special model commemorating the on-road and off-road capabilities and the distinctive design of the 1980s W460 G-Class. Buyers can choose from three classic exterior colors: Manufaktur Agave Green Solid, Manufaktur Cream Solid, and Manufaktur Colorado Beige Solid. All three are historic colors that represent the legacy of past G-Class models.
The vintage look is enhanced with Night Black Magno accents on the grille, flared wheel arches, mirrors, and orange retro-style turn signals.

The rear includes an authentic 1980s spare wheel cover, while the rear door displays a Mercedes-Benz lettering badge sourced from an original 1980s G-Class.
Retro Interior Meets Modern Tech

The cabin features black leather seats with a checkered pattern in dove gray fabric at the center, offering a retro-inspired look. A “1 of 460” numbered badge is placed on the center console to highlight the model’s limited-edition status, and the passenger-side grab handle includes model-specific lettering.
While the interior design leans retro, the vehicle is fully modernized with features like a Nappa leather multifunction steering wheel, sliding glass sunroof, Burmester 3D audio system, and the latest Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).

A 3.0-liter six-cylinder gasoline engine with a nine-speed automatic transmission delivers 443 horsepower. Pricing starts at 152,815 GBP (approximately 217,500 USD).
The G-Class 1980s Edition will be offered in G450d and G500.
