General Motors (GM) has unveiled the 2026 Sierra electric vehicle (EV), signaling a major push into the electric pickup truck market. Complementing the existing premium Denali trim, GM has introduced the rugged AT4 trim for off-road enthusiasts and a more affordable Elevation trim as the new entry-level option.
The Elevation trim’s starting price is $62,400, a significant drop from Denali’s original $89,00. This significant $27,500 price cut makes the Sierra EV more accessible to a broader range of consumers.

This price reduction significantly enhances the Sierra EV’s market appeal and accessibility. The Elevation trim offers a clean, minimalist design with 18-inch two-tone wheels, a power tailgate, and GM’s innovative MultiPro tailgate as standard features.

Inside, the Elevation boasts a large 16.8-inch infotainment system. However, to achieve its lower price point, it swaps the Denali’s premium wood trim for more cost-effective fabric materials. The powertrain features a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system and offers both standard and extended battery options.

The extended battery model impresses with 645 horsepower and 1,036 Nm of torque, ensuring robust performance capabilities.

The AT4 trim is GM’s answer to the growing demand for off-road-capable electric pickups. Starting at $79,300, the AT4 comes equipped with 35-inch all-terrain tires, a lifted suspension, four-wheel steering, and GM’s CrabWalk feature. It also includes specialized off-road driving modes, showcasing GM’s advanced electrification technology.
Depending on battery configuration, the AT4 can produce up to 725 horsepower and 1,050 Nm of torque. Its interior features a unique Forest Storm theme with custom headrest embroidery, emphasizing its off-road focus.

The CrabWalk feature, allowing diagonal movement in tight off-road situations, significantly enhances the AT4’s maneuverability in challenging terrain.

The Denali trim, Sierra EV’s luxury offering, also sees substantial price reductions for the 2026 model. The Denali Standard now starts at $69,700, while the Denali Extended is priced at $77,900, reflecting savings of up to $12,000 compared to previous models.
Despite the lower cost, the Denali maintains its premium status with a maximum output of 760 horsepower and 1,063 Nm of torque in its Max Range configuration—alongside its upscale interior with high-quality wood and metal accents.

With the 2026 Sierra EV, GM aims to broaden the appeal of its premium electric pickup by adding practicality and diverse options. This positions the Sierra EV for intense competition against rivals like the Ford F-150 Lightning, Rivian R1T, and Tesla Cybertruck in the rapidly evolving electric pickup market.
