Surprising news has been delivered less than two years after the 11th-generation Honda Accord was launched on the market. The current Accord’s facelift model has been unveiled in the Chinese market. This model has small but noticeable changes compared to the existing Accord’s design, and a more aggressive and sophisticated image characterizes it. In addition, it is said to be sold only in the Chinese market, and its basic structure is still based on the existing model sold in the global market.

Design Changes: Sportier and More Aggressive Styling

The 2026 Accord was produced with local automaker GAC, targeting the Chinese market. The biggest change in appearance is the front design, which gives a sharper and more intense impression. The headlight unit has changed, but its shape remains the same. In particular, the LED daytime running lights (DRLs) extend long to both ends of the grille, and the orange reflectors seen in the previous model have disappeared.

The new grille is similar in size and shape to the existing model but has 19 silver horizontal slats, giving it a more sophisticated feel. This change is important in transforming the Accord into a more sporty and modern style. In addition, the front bumper adopts more complex angles, emphasizing a more unique and dynamic feel than the previous model. The rear design remains unchanged, with the existing LED light bar and taillights.

Interior: Maintaining the Basics with Practical Enhancements

The interior of the 2026 Accord is quite similar to that of the previous model. The 15-inch large infotainment display and digital instrument panel are still essential features, and a small round screen and rotary dial are located below the air conditioner to provide intuitive operation. Overall, the interior maintains a clean and sophisticated atmosphere, while the practical configuration that considers user convenience stands out.

Powertrain: Familiar but Efficient Options

The powertrain has not significantly changed. The 2026 Accord has the same two engines as the previous model. The 1.5-liter turbocharged engine produces 189 horsepower (141 kW) and 192 lb-ft (260 Nm), and the 2.0-liter plug-in hybrid model produces 181 horsepower (135 kW) and 247 lb-ft (335 Nm). The plug-in hybrid model boasts an electric driving range of up to 106 km (66 miles), making it an attractive choice for consumers who value efficiency.

Market Exclusivity and Future Plans

Honda has not yet clearly stated whether this Accord facelift will be applied to the global market or limited to the Chinese market. However, industry experts say that a separate facelift for the worldwide market is unlikely, as it is a minor design modification rather than a significant change overall.
