Xiaomi’s first electric SUV, the YU7, has been spotted during road tests. Similar in design to its first model, the SU7 sedan, the YU7 is Xiaomi’s second electric vehicle model.

Car News China reported on Wednesday that they captured images of the YU7 test vehicle in China’s Guangxi region.

The Tesla Model Y will be the YU7’s rival when it is released in June. The industry anticipates the starting price to be approximately 250,000 yuan (approximately $34,700).

The YU7 has a sporty profile. It measures 196.8 inches long, 78.6 inches wide, and 63 inches high, with a wheelbase of 118.1 inches. It weighs 5,302 pounds and has approach and departure angles of 16 and 19 degrees, respectively.

The media clarifies that Xiaomi’s distinctive design is maintained despite comparisons to the Ferrari Purosangue’s long front hood and sleek silhouette.

The front end sports aggressive cooling vents, a bold front lip, and functional air ducts, complemented by unique headlights. A roof-mounted rider sensor supports advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).

On the side, it has hidden door handles, a panoramic glass roof, and alloy wheels with reduced air resistance. The rear emphasizes dynamism with a U-shaped LED light bar, dual spoilers, and a large diffuser with integrated air outlets.

While interior details remain unrevealed, leaked information hints at a futuristic cabin featuring a curved display spanning the dashboard, a three-spoke steering wheel, and a large central touchscreen.

The design reportedly minimizes physical buttons for a clean, contemporary aesthetic.

The YU7 will be offered in a single-motor rear-wheel drive (RWD) and a dual-motor all-wheel drive (AWD) variant.

The AWD model combines a 220 kW front motor with a 288 kW rear motor, delivering a total output of 508 kW (691 horsepower) and a top speed of 157 mph. It is equipped with CATL’s ternary lithium battery and boasts a CLTC-rated range of up to 472 miles.

The RWD variant employs a 235 kW rear motor and an LFP battery. It prioritizes efficiency and targets a top speed of 149 mph.
