Volkswagen officially announced its entry into the entry-level Electric Vehicle market. Thomas Schäfer, CEO of the Volkswagen brand, made this statement regarding the newly unveiled ID.EVERY1 concept, highlighting the company’s plans to strengthen its leadership in the future mobility market.

On March 5, Volkswagen introduced its new entry-level EV concept, the ID.EVERY1 is expected to launch at around 20,000 EUR (approximately $21,000). This strategic move demonstrates Volkswagen’s commitment to making eco-friendly mobility more accessible to consumers.

A Compact and Affordable EV

The ID.EVERY1 is a city-oriented EV with a length of 3,880mm (153 inches), positioning it between Volkswagen’s existing Up! (3,600mm / 142 inches) and Polo (4,074mm / 160 inches). Its compact size makes it well-suited for urban driving.

Volkswagen announced that the ID.EVERY1 will be priced at approximately 20,000 EUR (approximately $21,008), marking a significant step toward the mass adoption of EVs.

Schäfer stated that the ID.EVERY1 is the final piece of Volkswagen’s mission to offer the most diverse model lineup in the volume segment.

The vehicle is built on the MEB platform and features a single motor generating 70kW (95 horsepower). It can reach a top speed of 130km/h (81 mph) and travel over 250km (155 miles) on a single charge, making it a practical choice for daily commuting.

Modern Design and Advanced Software

The ID.EVERY1 features a vertical hatchback design. Its front end incorporates headlamps surrounded by LED pixels and a vertical LED bar, creating a futuristic look. The fully closed grille enhances its identity as an EV.

Volkswagen’s head of design stated that they aimed to create a bold yet accessible design. The dynamic front lighting and subtly smiling rear design convey confidence and approachability.

The interior adopts a clean, modern aesthetic with minimal physical buttons. Infotainment functions are provided by a large central display powered by Volkswagen Group’s most advanced software architecture.

This software allows continuous updates throughout the vehicle’s lifecycle, enabling customers to add new features even after purchasing the EV.
