Honda has unveiled the 2025 Prologue, an electric SUV with improved driving range and performance. Following strong sales of 33,017 units last year, Honda has made key updates to the 2025 model, enhancing its efficiency and power.

Increased Driving Range

The front-wheel drive model now offers a 12-mile increase in driving range, reaching 308 miles according to EPA standards. Despite retaining the same 85 kWh battery, Honda optimized the vehicle’s efficiency to achieve the longer range.

The all-wheel drive model has also seen improvements. The EX and Touring trims now deliver 294 miles, an increase of 13 miles over the previous model, while the top-of-the-line Elite trim achieves 283 miles, an increase of 10 miles.

Stronger Performance

In addition to the extended range, the 2025 Prologue boasts a significant increase in power output. The front-wheel drive model’s output has been raised by 8 horsepower (6 kW), now delivering 220 horsepower (164 kW). Torque has also increased by 7 lb-ft (9 Nm), reaching 243 lb-ft (329 Nm).

The all-wheel drive version has received even more substantial updates. It now produces a maximum output of 300 horsepower (224 kW), an increase of 12 horsepower (9 kW), and 355 lb-ft (481 Nm) of torque, up by 25 lb-ft (34 Nm). These changes are expected to improve acceleration and driving stability, enhancing the driving experience.

Price and Competition

The price of the 2025 Prologue remains largely unchanged, starting at $47,400. However, the destination delivery fee has slightly increased from $1,395 to $1,450. Fortunately, all 2025 Prologues are eligible for a federal tax credit of $7,500, which will help reduce the overall price.

While the 2025 Prologue now offers performance figures comparable to those of the 2025 Chevrolet Blazer EV, which offers similar output, the Prologue does not feature the Blazer EV SS’s 615-horsepower powertrain. Whether Honda plans to release a high-performance version, such as the Prologue Type R, remains unclear.
