Any car can be involved in a traffic accident, but the outcome can be significantly different based on the type of vehicle. The safety of each vehicle has the most significant impact, and sometimes, the extent of damage in an accident can be influenced by the power performance.

News of supercar accidents due to reckless driving occasionally surfaces. Most of these accidents occur when inexperienced drivers lose control due to speeding. Recently, a Ferrari limited edition supercar worth approximately $4.2 million was damaged in an accident. Fortunately, there were no human casualties, but it is regrettable given that the damaged car is a limited-edition model with historical significance.

Debris Found 200 Yards Away
Fortunately, There Were No Casualties

On the 6th, the Munich Fire Department in Germany reported a recent supercar accident. According to the announcement, an Enzo Ferrari lost control and slid while approaching the Neuherberg exit on the 99th section of the Autobahn on the outskirts of Munich at around 11:21 a.m. on the 5th (local time). The vehicle crashed into the central guardrail, causing severe damage to the front end.

Fortunately, it was a single-car accident, so no other vehicles were directly involved in the collision, and there were no casualties. However, debris from the accident flew onto other passing vehicles, injuring three people, including the driver of the Enzo Ferrari. The debris found 200 yards away indicates the severity of the impact at the time of the accident.

Speeding in Someone Else’s Car Leads to Accident
What Will Happen to the Wrecked Enzo?

The identity of the driver who caused the accident has not been revealed yet, and the exact cause of the accident is still under investigation. Looking at the photos from the scene, the wet road surface may have contributed to the accident. The widespread debris suggests that the vehicle was speeding during the accident. According to some foreign media outlets, including Carscoops, it is reported that the driver was an employee of a Ferrari dealership near the accident site.

There are various opinions on what will happen to the damaged car. Everything is gone, from the front bumper to the hood and headlamps, and the front wheel and suspension on the driver’s side are severely damaged. If the carbon fiber monocoque chassis, the core of this car, is damaged, the repair costs will skyrocket. However, since it’s one of the only 400 models produced, it will likely be repaired, even if it requires high costs. In 2006, an Enzo Ferrari was involved in a severe accident in California, USA, but it was restored a few years later and sold at an auction for $1.75 million.

Initial Price: $720,000
Market Value Up More Than Five Times

The Enzo Ferrari is a symbolic supercar launched in 2002 to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the company’s establishment. Equipped with a 6.0L V12 naturally aspirated engine, it delivers a maximum output of 660 horsepower and a maximum torque of 67 kgf.m. The power was delivered to the rear wheels by a 6-speed automated manual transmission with a shift time of just 0.15 seconds. It could accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 3.65 seconds and reach a top speed of over 217 mph. It boasts considerable high performance by both past and current standards.

Initially, only 349 units were planned for production, but 50 more were produced. The last one made was donated to the Vatican. At the time, the Vatican auctioned off the vehicle to help victims of the Southeast Asian earthquake. The price at the time of release was $650,000, and the number of units has decreased slightly due to accidents, leading to an increase in premium. According to foreign media outlet Hagerty, the Enzo Ferrari is traded at an average of $3.55 million. In a 2021 auction, it was sold for $3.8 million.
